REVIEWS
"Their
unusual and imaginative fusion of electric Scottish ceilidh,
pop and modern dance rhythms is extremely effective-played
with skill and brio, it's good to listen to and great bopping
music to boot. Deeper is that "difficult" third
album, and probably their best yet."
Bob Walton, Folk Roots
"Blend
the best of the Scottish ceilidh traditional with modern rock
rhythms, throw in a stylish set of self-penned songs and tunes
and you have "Deeper"....packed with no holds-barred
invention and skillful playing... The songs written by Anderson,
Waterston and Cherry are the perfect complement to Cherry's
voice and are punctuated by tunes in a slightly more traditional
style but still packed with no-hold-barred invention and skilful
playing. The interplay between Borland's fiddle and Brechin's
accordion is a particular joy throughout and the guitar pickin's
not bad either! 'And Still There' and 'The Beautiful Blues'
are stand out tracks in a rich and varied album"
Geoff Ager, Shire Folk

"Ali
Cherry's curvaceous, creamily sensual lead vocals and Sandy
Brechin's wonderfully lustrous, shimmering tone and prodigious
rhythmic dexterity on accordion....partnered by Greg Boreland's
agile, expressive fiddle....the opening"And Still There"
and "Sweet Thing" are both faintly reminiscent of
an unplugged "Garbage".
