SANDY BRECHIN


Sandy has been tutoring for many years, both privately and for residential courses, such as Accordions at Witney 2005, near Oxford, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig (the Gaelic College on Skye) summer courses 2000-2005 and Spring Fling 2003, Folkworks Summerschools in Durham 2001-2004, and Darlington Workout Weekend 2004. Sandy has also taught at many Fèisean over the years, such as Fèis Rois (Ullapool) 2006, Fèis Ghlinn Albainn (Fort Augustus) 2005, Fèis an Earrach (Skye), Fèis Loch Abair (Fort William), Fèis sa Mheadhan (Stirling), Fèis Dun Eidan (Edinburgh), and at Edinburgh's Youth Gaitherin'.


Sandy's first instructional video for intermediate accordion was released in 2000 and comes complete with tune book.
It will be coming out on DVD in 2006, along with a Beginners Accordion DVD and tutor book.

Sandy has run accordion workshops for the Royal Scottish Academy for Music and Drama (RSAMD) in Glasgow in February 2005 & 2006 and has been a regular teacher at The National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music, Plockton High School, since it started up in 2000. Sandy also taught at Junior Acoustic Music in Melrose in The Scottish Borders, and Celtic Connections Workshops 2005 & 2006. He has given countless accordion, arrangement and ceilidh dance workshops at festivals around the world over the years, and gives private tuition at home in Edinburgh.
