Scottish Ceilidh Music

Some of the finest ceilidh bands in the country have recorded with Brechin All Records. Mostly accordion and fiddle-led, these bands are at the forefront of the modern ceilidh scene, often combining traditional instruments with drums, bass and guitar. Hugh MacDiarmid’s Haircut is even more unique, in that the Great Highland Bagpipes are the lead instrument. The Accidental Death of an Accordionist CD, the comic music from the hit Highland play of the same name, features the inimitable sound of the imaginary 'Tour-A-Rural Ceilidh Band'.

The demand for ceilidh dances these days is greater than it ever has been, and all the bands on the record label regularly play all around the country and are also often booked to play abroad, particularly for Burns Night and St Andrews Night events.
