The Sandy Brechin Band

THE SANDY BRECHIN BAND

Wild man of the accordion and front man of Bùrach and The Sensational Jimi Shandrix Experience, Sandy Brechin plays fast and funky favourites from his albums, Out of his Box and Out of his Tree, along with some fantastic new material with band members Andrew Mill (guitar and vocals), William Oke (bass) and Ross Anderson (Cajon).

A four-piece outfit with an unforgettable stage performance: from the electrifying high-speed jigs and reels to the traditional Gaelic airs, the sound created is fresh, innovative and vibrant, at times soul-touching and tender, but always with an underlying power and confidence. Sandy is just as well known for his on-stage humour, which has been known to have audiences in tears, one way or another.

The Sandy Brechin Band has toured New Zealand, Germany, Ireland, Austria, Denmark, Spain, France, Italy and The Faroe Islands. They have played at Celtic Connections at The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, performed at the Edinburgh International Festival, Reikjavik and Vienna Accordion Festivals and many others, along with numerous TV and radio shows, including BBC Scotland’s “Hogmanay Show” and at the official “Edinburgh’s Hogmanay” street party.
